Here is a small photo gallery of my immediate family and some of my relatives.
Basically my Dad is Eric Akiskalian, he grew up in Santa Barbara, CA. He's been a surfer all is life and he is the owner of Towsurfer.com. He is the best and coolest Dad ever because he is always there for me and he loves to have fun with me. My Mom Sharon grew up in Maui, HI and is the nicest, most caring and beautiful Mom in the entire world. Then there is my little brother Jake, who is now almost two years old and he is already learning how to skateboard and swim.
On my Dad's side, I have a living grandmother (Oma) named Frauke Vest and her friend for life named Freddie. Both of them live in Hamburg, Germany so I do not get to see them that often but when we do visit, it is really special! I also have two Uncles that live in Berlin and Koln, Germany and are also both married with no children.
Then there are my Dad's two 1/2 sisters Karen and Joanne Akiskalian who are both totally into snowboarding, surfing, wakeboarding and all the really fun stuff. Karen will be getting married next summer to a guy named Rob and Joanne's boyfriend is Charlie. They both seem really happy !
I never got to meet my Dad's father, John Akiskalian and his sister Sandy Akiskalian because they both passed away in 1994 and 1996. I do visit them with my Mom and Dad when we bring flowers to their cemetery.
On my Mother's side, I have a living grandmother and grandfather named Barbara and John Vaughn. Basically I am grandson number 22 or something like that and I have a handful of Aunt's and Uncles and lots and lots of cousins all over the place living in Hawaii, Washington and Alaska. Whenever we get together it is always really fun and exciting. I especially like going fishing with my grandfather in Washington on those warm summer days and hanging out at the lake with my cousins!
In short, I have so much family on my Mom's side that it would take me months to write in detail about em all. They are all way cool and I love them a lot!
I have a great loving family that I know will always be there for me and will love me no matter what. Heck, I'm just a kid trying to figure a lot of things out these days and I am learning that it is ok not to grow up too fast and enjoy my childhood.
P.S. My parents helped me to write this and explain how I feel, cuz after all I just turned 8 on June 16, 2008. I will be adding images as I grow up!
